The original Prospector 1 oz Silver Round was minted by Engelhard. Several variations of these vintage silver rounds were minted during the 1980s.

Engelhard's silver products are highly sought after and in strong demand by silver investors and collectors alike. Due to the rarity, Prospector silver rounds typically hold their value over generic silver rounds and other premium silver rounds from modern mints.

Prospector 1 oz Silver Round Design
The design on this round features a tired but persistent prospector. Panning through pay dirt on his quest for precious metals. Many investors, who buy silver rounds, add the .999 fine silver Engelhard Prospector Round to their list of "must have" silver bullion rounds.

Of all the products produced by Engelhard during their decades of operation, the 1 oz Prospector is the most recognized silver rounds produced by Engelhard. Many of the current and modern designs from today's minting companies draw their inspiration from this original design.

These vintage rounds were minted from 1982 through 1988. From 1982 to 1984, the design of the reverse featured the Large E logo. From mid-1984 until 1988 the reverse design was changed to the Eagle logo.

In 1985, various sized fractional silver rounds were minted, including 1/10th oz, 1/4 oz and 1/2 oz sizes.

The number of rounds minted varied each year. Some vintage Engelhard products can carry significant numismatic and collectible premiums. More information about the Engelhard Prospector 1 oz silver rounds can be found at AllEngelhard.com.

The rounds come in good condition but may exhibit wear and toning for rounds of its age.
